1 year ago admin Laravel

In today's lesson, we will see how to use Summernote editor in Laravel 10 with Bootstrap 5, as we know Summernote is a WYSIWYG editor.

Grab the cdn files

First, let's grab the CSS & JS cdn files and include them in the app file.

<!-- Jquery -->
<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-3.5.1.min.js"></script>
<!-- Summernote CSS -->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/summernote/0.8.20/summernote-bs5.min.css" integrity="sha512-ngQ4IGzHQ3s/Hh8kMyG4FC74wzitukRMIcTOoKT3EyzFZCILOPF0twiXOQn75eDINUfKBYmzYn2AA8DkAk8veQ==" crossorigin="anonymous" referrerpolicy="no-referrer" />
<!-- Summernote JS -->
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/summernote/0.8.20/summernote.min.js" integrity="sha512-6rE6Bx6fCBpRXG/FWpQmvguMWDLWMQjPycXMr35Zx/HRD9nwySZswkkLksgyQcvrpYMx0FELLJVBvWFtubZhDQ==" crossorigin="anonymous" referrerpolicy="no-referrer"></script>

Run summernote

Next, to make Summernote works add the following code at the bottom of the app file.

<script>
  $(document).ready(function() {
     //summernote
     $('.summernote').summernote();
  });
</script>

Use with a textarea

Finally, to use with a textarea all you need to do is to add the summernote class to the textarea.

<textarea name="body" class="summernote" cols="30" rows="10" placeholder="Body*"></textarea>
